Besides drug dealers and prostitutes, there are also a ton of people here who gladly offer you their services in ways that can not possibly end you up in a 3rd world prison. Here's some of them.
The horse carriage driver. Tons of these guys, and they all give you a precanned tour of the city with explanations and all. There's rumor that there's one who speaks english, but we haven't found him yet. Like everything else, the price fluctuates. It's best to name your best reasonable price, see if he haggles downwards, and then walk away. That usually gets you your price.
This fellow gave us a tour of the maritime museum. Very cool guy, very knowledgable and helpful, and english speaking. Albeit with a thick accent and many spanish words thrown in to make sure you're paying attention.
The tour guide from the inquisition museum. Again, very helpful, but not the best english. When he noted the number to street vendors outside the museum who had followed us there and waited for the 2 or 3 hours the tour took, he kinda laughed at us.
I tried sneaking a picture of this guy. I think he does church tours.
I felt bad about sneaking his picture, so i figured the better way would be to just go up and ask instead.
Oh, tons of stray dogs everywhere. The travel warnings say they all have rabies and stay away, but they're really the sweetest things. If not for the whole travel over the ocean thing in a plane, I'd almost have wanted to adopt these guys.
Dancers. Picture is shoddy but i've got video i'll try to post upon return to the states.
This guy just wanders around selling safari hats. Very nice, and he was so pleasantly surprised that i wanted his picture. I guess mostly tourists ask him to take their pictures.
And the flamenco guitar guys. 3 songs for 20,000 COP. Or about 10 dollars. Completely worth it.
Server from the last restaurant we were at. Again, so surprised that i'd ask for her picture rather than hand her my camera and demand her take pictures of me instead.
